Safari two: Lake Nakuru
Our Masai Mara safari had one disappointment: we had failed to see a rhino. Luckily the safari trip included an extra day at another national park: Lake Nakuru.
Lake Nakuru’s environment is vastly different from Masai Mara. Instead of dry grasslands, there are dense green forests and swampy marshes. Even grassy meadows were different in Nakuru, with green grass and plenty of trees. As a result, the animals were different: rhinos, flamingos, and other birds dominated our safari. Other animals were there as well – zebras and wildebeests (which after Masai Mara had almost become ordinary), giraffes, and monkeys.
It was great getting to see different animals in a completely different environment.
