Churches and beer baths
We spent the day today in Olomouc, a small college town conveniently located between Prague and Krakow. While our stay was originally forced on us as a result of train schedules, it has been a great calm break after the fast pace of Prague. The town is a beautiful arrangement of numerous churches and other impressive old buildings, all around cobblestone-lined town squares. Olomoucers (Olomites? We haven’t really figured out how to correctly pronounce the city name, let alone its residents) stroll through the squares and streets, calmly, in no rush, enjoying the Czech beers in the outdoor bars and cafes that surround the squares. Students are everywhere, and during happy hour times we noticed that a large percentage of bar tables were filled with students and their papers, “studying.”
So glad your adventure is off to a great start! I had no idea that your trip was starting in Beervana… how appropriate.
Jami, Aaron’s grandfather would be very happy to learn about your detailed expense tracking… that is what he did, down to the penny. He hated computers, but I think he would love the apps you are using on your phone to track expenses.
@boobrendan:
1) not yet – in fact I’m discerning inventory I can leave behind.
2) it’s been 4 days and we’ve decided we’re going to open our own beer spa in Pdx, where I can procure beer beauty/soap products and Aaron can run the bar/make the beer.
Test!
re pantyhose: i thought that’s a european thing? my younger sis picked up that habit and now wearing pantyhose all the time… including in the summer. that bugs me. but i understand your fascination…
What a great time in Prague! Starbucks mugs and jumping pics in every city?
Will you have a chance to see Nika?
