Jami’s Backpack
So the packaging and the backpack…I am not going to lie, I still have some editing to do. Here’s the deal, I really am a no fuss girl. I love a pair of jeans and tee, even better give me a summer dress and some flip-flops and I am good to go. That said, when I travel I love to pack what I inspire to be, a better me, a different life. I use travel as a way to dress in nice things and show off my favorite pieces in what will likely be photographed. So this, guys, has been a challenge. Not to mention, spring weather will vary, we have no clue where we are going and what we are doing and I HATE to be cold.
First, the backpack…I went for what I am calling “the convertible.” It’s a backpack with wheels. Here’s the deal I know I need a backpack when we are walking up stairs, but I want to also be able to wheel when it works. I am a small girl and I want to have the option to have the roller when I want it. I am also going with a small daypack backpack.
Shoes:
- Flips
- Sandals that I think are super fashionable for being Teva like.
- Soon to be purchased waterproof tennis
(I know what you’re thinking…Jami where are your heels? This is something I debated with. I figure if I really feel amiss without them I will purchase out there and possibly throw them out along the way.)
Jackets:
- Light fleece
- Rain jacket
- Prima loft puff
Shirts/Long sleeves:
I still have too many. But I did buy a couple of those really expensive, merino wool.
Pants:
I still have too many. It’s a mix of leggings to light airy pants and then some comfortable cords and work out. I also bought a couple of the quick try travelers pants. They were as cute as they came, which isn’t saying much.
Dresses:
Definitely too many. I just have visions of wanting to wear dresses in Greece and in the more sophisticated cities on our route. It’s been difficult to edit.
Accessories:
- Hats
- Sunglasses
- Eyeglasses
- Hair wraps for those days I go without washing my hair
I am still working on organizing our first aid, prescriptions, and I am packing all the important sunscreen, lotions etc.
Aaron is in charge of all the technology: The iPad, external drive, and camera(s).
Like I said I am still in editing mode but I am using compression bags and other compartment bags for everything. I want everything to have a place and be super organized so that I don’t tear out my hair trying to find anything. Here’s to simplifying.

Best luck Jami!
And the bag does seem to outweigh you!
The end of an era: well, for me…living vicariously in NYC.
